Inner Bloom 2021 is a series of works that explores the experience of bereavement and loss during the pandemic, where isolation from home and family was the unfortunate reality and much needed grieving rituals were denied. The importance of familial bonds and a sense of home is clearer than ever before, we re-prioritize and reconsider our own existence. When we experience something traumatic, it changes us. New growth, new beginnings, however awkward and painful, start to emerge from within. The work is interactive with its reflective surface acting as a mirror to the viewer, inviting them to consider the collective loss experienced in 2020.
